New Found Beauty…..
I can find beauty in a lot of things old and new. This particular chair you see here is older than 10 years old, and it belong to my mom. They were brown, old, and needed a quick updating. Getting rid of these chairs was NOT an option for me. There are pieces of our parents that at times certain things can be easy to part with. My mom IS still such a HUGE part of my life, and I need to see and feel those reminders of her presence in my home.
Time and Energy Is All It Takes…..
I know that people aren’t always into having the time to work on these types of projects. It does take time, and energy to put towards these things. I find the beauty in all things, and I bring LIFE back into it. I don’t always want my boys to see my spending money, and not using my wits to make things worth my while. Going through Craigslist ads, and the marketplace on Facebook gives me energy. All of the fabrics that you see laying across that chair were purchased at Hobby Lobby, and there was a lot of thought put into my dream for these chairs.
Living in my neighborhood has been so fulfilling. We recently moved into our forever home, and this has been so many decisions for me decorating. Our forever home tour is here, and I fell in love with this place, and I am still madly in love. Never stop chasing what you see in your dreams, and when your WIDE awake. Always remember dreams do come true, take my testimony into account.
Here you see my guy working on getting those fabrics bolted and screwed down. When I am upholstering chairs, I try to choose seat cushions that have a certain level of difficulty to them(EASY). I am NOT going to choose cushions that my little hands can’t work properly. When I see a vision I run with it, and this guy always tells me, “Baby only you know your vision, I am just here to help you”!!
This was not a difficult restoration at all. This was the fun part, but I needed more arm strength to screw down the seat.
Keep this in mind… This is your vision and don’t let anyone destroy it for you. I decided to choose 4 different floral fabrics to go into this room. This was easy using my green antique china cabinet to pull ideas from. Being honest these fabrics were not your cheapest to find in Hobby Lobby but they are so beautiful! My inspiration for these chairs came from this Pinspiration HERE, and it steals my heart every time I see it.
In order for me to cover 4 chairs I chose to get 4 yards, and I have learned my lesson about not choosing the right amount of fabric. I rather have over enough, than NOT enough to do the job. These chairs were super easy to cover, and responded well to our staple gun. We use your industrial style staple gun, and it does the job well. This does take a 2 person job to pull the fabric tight, and staple this down correctly. If you can, try to choose fabric that has a little bit of higher quality, so that it lasts so much longer for you.
The Different Variations…..
In the photos above you can see the differences with all the patterns in the fabrics. I love all the floral prints, and how they flow with each other.
