The Southern Flair Charcuterie Tray With My Boys………(Easy and Good).
Hey friends, this is Jerral doing a blog takeover today! Arie has been pretty busy lately with Vault28, and making sure it gets started correctly. I wanted to share something with you that my wife makes. She makes this special tray during holidays, and it has all these really good yummy treats on it. Well, when she tells us that she is going to put one together, my boys and I are all bought in. She decided to do one for the 4th, or even just give you guys peek into what we add to it. My boys kill it every time, and it is pretty fun to often visit. LOL
Charcuterie…….
This tray can easily be designed tons of ways, but since my wife’s family is from Louisiana she decided to add a Southern flair to it. My wife has a few blogger friends that she talks about a lot, and she stole this idea from her blogger pal Krystal over at The Holliday Collective. If you get a moment step over and check out some of Krystal’s eats, and amazing cocktails too!
If you have a cutting board, or even big platter lying around then you are on your way! My wife keep cutting boards around the kitchen so I just grabbed one. I think what my family loves the most is the opportunity to just graze the tray. It’s not really a full meal, and my wife doesn’t let us just do bored snacking. The tray has so much to offer, it will give you everything you need I promise.
This little dude loves helping in the kitchen whenever he can. Hope he always stays that way!
We decided to surprise my wife by making one of her favorite drinks that her mom made from scratch. (Lemonade)! She loves fresh lemonade, and knowing that it reminds of her mom makes me happy! You know guys everything about this blog was born from her mom. I see those things in her everyday, and its refreshing to see her keep her spirit alive. Arie epitomizes her, and how wonderful of a person that my wife emulates her!
Caleb likes to eat it more than fix it! LOL Make sure to give those lemons a roll before cutting them, it maximizes the juice!
Tray Items……
We love adding tons of stuff to our tray, but we gave this one a Southern Flair. My wife added these ingredients below….
Boudain (Cook first in oven about 35 minutes on 375) We usually put it in foil, and let it go.
Boudain Balls (work too)
Pepper Jack Cheese
Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Rosemary Crackers
Multi-grain Crackers
Strawberries
Peanuts
Pralines
Blackberries
Green Olives
Grapes
Watermelon
Sliced Pepperoni
Side Note: We also had some beef hot dogs on the side, with baked beans. She bought a better hot dog since we don’t normally eat hot dogs all the time. Or better yet they aren’t in our regular rotation. She bought Beef hot dogs, and cooked them in the oven wrapped them in bacon for a full flavor experience. These hot dogs were out of this world, and no the entire pack was gone!
Cole was so proud of his finished tray, and he was just taking it all in.
I hope you guys enjoyed hanging with us today, and sharing our favorite past times while we are on holiday! This tray will be fun, and super easy! Thank you for stopping by and maybe I will do this again some time soon.
