Box cake mix in my opinion always get the love in the grocery store. They are no fuss, the directions are clear, and minimal ingredients. Yes, friends we tend to grab these the most out of convenience. I guess as I age, I am tending to take more time to bake a cake to be remembered.
Honestly, people don’t want to deal with cakes that have too many darn ingredients. I am one of those people who just hates 20 or more ingredients. These are the recipes that I don’t even bother reading at times.

When it comes to box cake mix I will always believe that homemade is better, But, there are ways to make a box cake mix taste homemade with a few elements of intrigue. I decided to take my box cake mix to the next level!
Box Cake Mix Raising The Bar……….
This recipe will share how to elevate any box cake mix
- 6 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 stick of butter (melted butter)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup strawberry preserves
Make sure oven is set at 325 degrees.
Take the cake mix out of the box, and dump in a bowl.
Add in your eggs.
Add in your butter. (Start with your hand mixer, which is fine).
Add in your sour cream, and mix well.
Add in the cup of milk.
Finally, add in the strawberry preserves.

I am not huge on cake, but I definitely wanted to share how this cakes rises to the occasion. It wasn’t hard to recreate, and I changed the ingredients into a different version for my taste, and liking. I am not a professional baker, but I will try my hand at a box version.
