Easter Rice Krispy Treats are always fun, and a good idea. They give kids something to look forward too around this time of year. My boys have gotten too big for Easter Egg Hunts, but they still enjoy yummy Easter treats. I love being able to share new content with you guys and also give you innovative ways to bring fun into your own homes with your littles.
The other day I was walking into Marshalls and saw these cute little pastel colored malted milk balls, and the most cutest pastel Easter eggs. I am aware that soon the stores will be crowded with Easter products. The stores give us a great fast forward to the next holiday without telling you directly. In between all of that is St. Patrick’s Day content too, which was Cole’s original due date. Well, he didn’t live up to that due date.
Rice Krispy Treats Are So Versatile….
Rice Krispy treats can be used with a cookie cutter, and also they can be cut and folded into several options. I kept my treats in the shape of a square so that you could see the malted milk balls when I cut into each square. So using the 9×13 inch pan gave me ample room to have this uniformity in each square.
I am also super hyper aware of making sure that my recipes aren’t very fussy. Fussy recipes make me run, and I don’t want that for my audience either.
Can You Make The Easter Treats Ahead of Time?
Of course you can make this ahead of time, but the freshness tends to give way most of the time. I cut mines into these squares, but I am also bagging these into huge Ziploc bags when done. The Ziploc bags can keep them fresh for as long as 3-5 days, but once we hit those days it is not as fresh as Day 1 or 2.
Simple Easter Treats Using Malted Milk Balls.
This is a simple recipe idea of a simple Easter Treat.
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4-5 cups rice Krispies
- 3 cups marshmallows
- 1 bag of malted milk balls (any kind you like)
Heat a big pan on the stove, on low medium heat.
Melt the stick of butter. Stir constantly, never take your eye off pan.
Throw in the marshmallows, and melt them down slowly.
Once melted pour in the rice Krispies, and stir well with a wooden spoon.
When you are at this point turn off the heat.
Spray down the 9×13 pan, so the Krispies don't stick when they are being lifted out.
Once they have been pressed into the pan, go ahead and start pressing your malted milk balls into the pan.
Let this pan sit in the fridge for about 1 hour.
I hope that you guys enjoy this sweet, little, quick treat. I think my husband enjoyed these more than my boys.
More Easter treats are on the way!!!
