Southern Pimento Cheeseburgers……
I love this recipe from way back when, and man was I so happy for these Southern Pimento Cheeseburgers! This was a random Sunday night dinner, and my boys gave me lots of kisses for it. The one thing that I tell any one who cooks a lot, is to own a cast iron skillet to cook your meats in. This pan is so nice when it gives those yummy flaky bits, and charred burn bits on the meat. This particular night, on any random Sunday most of the time I choose not to cook. The only reason for that is to save my energy for my students the very next day! (HA)!
When I say that this was so easy to make, and took absolutely no time to conjur up! The beauty about this burger is the bread, and the homemade pimento spread. When you are prepping to make this burger, make sure that you get some of that Texas Garlic Toast, that is the only bread that will skyrocket this sandwich to the stars!!
This pimento spread is the best!!! I made this so quickly while the burgers were working (cooking) their magic. Make sure to buy a jar of pimentos, and any jar will work.
Recipe
1 package of Ground Sirloin (Use what your family likes most)
Creole Seasoning (I use Zatarins creole seasoning)
2 Tsp of garlic powder
Cook: On Medium Heat until your style of meat.
Pimento Spread Recipe
2 cups of sharp shredded cheddar cheese (Any kind you like, but this intensifies the flavor)
1 block of softened cream cheese
2 TBSP Pimentos (In a jar)
Pimento Instructions
Soften Cream Cheese and mix with the shredded cheese, and drop in the pimentos.
Mix all together
Once your burgers are done, and please pre-cook the Texas Toast. (I used my oven to do them all at the same time)
Once they are all done lather the pimento spread on the bottom of meat, and top of meat, and stick in the oven
and watch the magic happen.
Side Note: We ate this along with a side of fries, and a salad too!
I hope that you enjoy this yummy quick Sunday, or even Monday night meal!!
